Fiat drives up its outsourcing needs
Fiat is a huge company around the world and their cars have helped thousands of people get from A to B and even sometimes point C for a long time. Many people are also aware of their company due to their backing of Italian soccer giants Juventus, one of the biggest clubs in the world but also, one not averse to scandal. Italian soccer for many people is riddled with corruption and unfair aspects and it has to be said a lot of this stems from Juventus and their owners, who stand apart from even some of the largest questionable elements of a nation who likes to play on the boundaries of what is considered to be good.
However, Fiat remains a well respected part of the automobile industry and it makes sense that they would be involved in the outsourcing element with regards to production and other parts of their daily tasks. Outsourcing has undoubtedly been one of the major factors in business life this decade and there is no reason to believe this will change at any point in the future. The opportunity to save a vast amount of money is obviously attractive to a great number of companies and who can blame them for doing everything they can during these troubled economic times to make as much as money as they can and boost their profits.
Although most people will first think of the production line elements of Fiat’s factories that are in need of outsourcing but this week has seen the company sign a deal to outsource many of their backroom jobs and facilities. Although the paperwork and administration duties for a firm are not considered amongst the most vital of tasks that will be undertaken, no serious company can survive without taking care of these matters and the ability to outsource them is very attractive. Being able to perform efficiently without daily worries and concerns is an attractive proposition.
Accenture PLC are the consultancy and outsourcing firm who have agreed this relationship with Fiat, in a move which should strengthen the financial position of both companies. US shares of Accenture PLC have fallen slightly in recent times so the singing of this sort of deal should promote a greater strength and confidence in the firm which should be good news for shareholders and employees alike.
There are obviously now a number of large outsourcing firms who are hugely reliant on signing these big deals with major firms and any change in the way that outsourcing is handled will affect many companies. It is almost as though many firms are heading towards becoming partners in the same supply chain which is obviously not the intended hope for outsourcing but becomes a more secure way for companies to do business with each other. Time will only tell if the Fiat and Accenture PLC will work in the manner both firms intend it to.
